Abstract

|
Warfarin is used in patients with pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), artificial cardiac valvular disease by preventing production of embolism but can cause severe problems when adverse effects occur. Anticoagulation services (ACS) have practiced in U.S.A. from 1960´s and is now actively being practiced at Kangdong Sungsim Hospital, Seoul National University Hospital and Samsung Seoul Hospital in the country. This hospital practiced to twenty out-patients who´s INR(international normalized ratio) is out of normal range for three months from June to August. As a result of ACS, all of twenty patients became to maintain INR with in therapeutic range compaine to previous values and adverse effect such as bleeding became to decrease. Regular monitoring through ACS resulted in effect to patients who have received a anticoagulant agent.
